I visited P P Pop for lunch and arrived around 11:30 AM--lucky me! Right after I got seated, a long line started forming. Definitely come early if you want to avoid the wait. Beef Roll Cake is a must-try--crispy, savory, and packed with flavor. Dan Dan Noodles were great too, and unlike other places, this version actually came with a generous portion of meat. Finally, the Pork and Shrimp Dumplings in Chili Oil were so good. Perfectly cooked, with just the right amount of spice. We ordered 3 dishes for the two of us, and it was the perfect amount. If you're in the area, P P Pop is a must-go! Here is casual and lively for a quick and satisfying meal.

This is purely for the popcorn chicken. My mom and I both love popcorn chicken and have been looking for a place that sells it while being decently priced. On yelp, it's marketed as $11 but we got 2 orders for a total of $18.74 making it about $9 each. You get a decent amount of chicken. It fills a typical Chinese takeout box without closing the lid. We got spicy and mild and honestly the mild is a little more easier to eat. The spicy definitely has our sinuses flowing LOL. We suggest to get the mild and ask for extra spice powder on the side to add in according to your taste. Overall, the chicken is a little soggy but nothing a quick pop in the air fryer can't fix. Maybe if you eat it there it would be crispier. We took it home so it sat in a plastic bag for 7 minutes. This restaurant shares a parking lot with the Hong Kong market so finding a spot was not hard. We will definitely be back!

I liked it. Came in for dinner with a friend. Inside is simple, spacing a little tight. Better for small groups. The place fills up fast so there was a bit of a wait but it wasn't too bad. We got the popcorn chicken, fried squid, beef roll, and pan fried dumplings. Everything was so good. I liked the lighter batter on the squid and chicken. We only got mild for my friend but next the I'll get it spicy for my own taste preference. They have a big menu with other rice and noodle dishes, they even have ramen and boba drinks, so I'll definitely be coming back to try more. Service was good. Fast and friendly staff. Easy parking in the shopping center lot.

Always consistent and delicious. I usually always get the popcorn chicken but this time I tried the fish balls no spice which were pretty good but next time I'll get them with a little spice. The xiaolongbao is always a good choice for the main entree. Usually during dinner time there's a short wait but food always comes out fast! Lots of seating in the restaurant and there's free parking in the plaza. This is usually my go to for Taiwanese cuisine!

I was surprised by how incredible this place is and it's definitely going to be one of my go-tos for dumplings and noodles. Located just outside a grocery market, the long wait was a good sign, and it did not disappoint. The restaurant is on the smaller side but the wait is completely worth it. Here's what we ordered: Iced Mango Green Tea - The mango flavor was absolutely delicious and it comes in a large jug that is perfect for sharing between two people Hot Oil Pork with Vegetable Wontons - The sauce was delicious and the wontons had the perfect balance of pork and vegetables Dan Dan Noodles - The peanut sauce was quite heavy but the flavors are rich and delicious Popcorn Chicken - The spicy seasoning added a great kick and it was cooked well Steamed Pork Bao - This is a must-try! I dare say it's as good as Din Tai Fung's but for much less I highly recommend this place. It's relatively affordable, and you really can't go wrong with any of their dishes.

Wow! What a great find! We were recommended this place from a friend, with all his raving we had to give it a try. First of all, the water they offer is amazing, so clean! I know it's probably not what you expect anyone to comment about but it really says something about the restaurant you're about to dine in!! The service is above average, on an Asian scale, haha. We ordered: Crispy beef roll- wow, this is the best beef roll I've ever had! It's like a beef sandwich with asian ingredients. It's so crunchy yet very soft, I know it sounds like an oxymoron, but I can't explain it any other way. Most beef sandwiches elsewhere of this kind is very dry and flaky, flaky is great when it comes to these but dry is still not a desirable attribute. Dan Dan noodle-very flavorful indeed, it's a creamy peanut sauce with spices similar to 5 spice. The meat is ground pork which was braised long and the crunchy herbs like green onion and cilantro add such a freshness along with the cold julienned cucumbers Spicy beef noodle soup-wasn't the best compared to the other dishes we ordered, it was very decent Fried pork Bao-nice and juicy inside cooked to perfection, crunchy on the bottom and steamed everywhere else, just the perfect flavor matches well with the black vinegar and chili oil Black pepper beef udon-nice filler, great portion and you can really taste the black pepper, the beef-a-plenty Fried fish ball-it's the Ma la flavoring and you can request your spicy level, still juicy, I think it has bits of squid in it, likey!! Since I found it a week ago, I've already been back, it will for sure be my go to. It is tho a little on the pricy side, but it's well worth it.

Went to this place per my bestie's recommendation and it was so tasty! I'm Taiwanese and haven't had bomb Taiwanese food in forever. We came in at 8:30 and the place was packed still. We sat at a table for 2 and over ordered photos and they moved us to a table for 4. Food was pipin' hot and everything was cooked well! Can't wait to come back and try their other dishes. PS they do close at 9 on the dot so we left a few minutes before 9 but there were so many customers still. Let the staff leave on time!

P P Pop is located in downtown Monterey Park. I went to grab some takeout on a Friday evening. As expected, it was very busy. The parking lot is shared with a supermarket, so space was definitely limited. After ordering and paying for my order, I waited on the side. It took about 13 minutes to get my order. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The staff were also very attentive of customers that were dining. There was always sometime looking at the tables every few seconds to see if anyone needed help. For my order, I got (1) beef roll and (1) xiao long bao. It came with a little bit of vinegar and ginger. The beef roll had a good amount of beef and tasted good. However, it did fall apart pretty easily with a bite. The xiao long bao tasted good, but it started to get hard, since I waited a bit to eat it. Note: They do accept credit card, but not American Express.

Come during rush hours there will be a wait. Write name down on a waiting list. - Green Apple Green Tea 5/5 It's not as sweet and the green apple isn't too prominent. It's pretty good! Large glass. - Pan Fried Pork Bao 3.1/5 Very very hot. The bao itself is very thick. - Pan Fried Pork Stickers 3.2/5 It's good with the texture difference between the pan fried and steamed top. The wrapping is thick, little filling inside. - Beef Roll Cake 1.9/5 Didn't enjoy this. It was pretty dry. - Hot Oil Pork w/ Vegetable Wontons 2.2/5 The wonton is juicy but the wrapping is a bit thick and the hot oil sauce does not taste that yummy. - House Special Beef Noodle Soup 4.3/5 Huge pieces of tender beef. Soup is pretty good. - Braised Beef Tendon Rice Noodle 1.8/5 The tendon is so delicious. It's braised so it's gelatin-y. However it doesn't fit the rice noodles. - Beef Fried Rice 5/5 It's just so good here. I love fried rice here- [RECOMMEND] mix with chili crisp! Free parking in small lot.

I was kind of on a beef noodle soup kick while working in the area for a while. And this place came up on a social media feed that I saw. I added it to my list right away! I'm not sure if it's because of its popularity or location, but this place was pretty busy on a weeknight when I met up with my friend here. The vibe was abuzzin haha. It looks like this place has Taiwanese favorites and you can come in ordering like a café, but the menu also lends well to pretty large groups / family dinners. Me and my buddy both ordered a bowl of beef noodle soup. We also ordered some steam soup dumplings, and the beef roll cake to share. The flavors for the dishes were quite amazing. Seriously some of the best beef noodle soup that I personally had. The dumplings were very delicate and had a great structure to them holding in the soup perfectly and not breaking apart. The serving size of the beef noodle soup was huge and honestly, we probably didn't need to order all the food with that we did, but I'm glad that we did at the same time ha ha. The one item that I'm sad that we didn't order on that visit was the pan fried dumplings. I mean, we already ordered too much anyway, but I guess I'll just have to get this next time. There's a lot of parking in the lot. It's also located next to an Asian grocer.
